This Privacy Policy explains how Deen NZ (“the app”, “we”, “us”), provided by Nextwave NZ, handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Deen NZ is designed to work primarily on your device, and we do not run servers that collect or store your personal data.

Information We Collect

Deen NZ does not require an account and does not transmit personal information to us or any third party. The app uses certain device features locally:

Location (approximate and precise): Used on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla (direction of the Kaaba). Your location is processed locally and is not sent to us or stored on any server.
Camera: Used only when you choose to scan a code (e.g. a barcode or QR code) within the app. Camera images are processed on your device and are not stored or transmitted.
Notifications: Used to deliver prayer time reminders, including the adhan sound, on your device.
On-device storage: Your preferences, prayer tracker history, and tasbih (dhikr) counts are saved locally on your device so the app remembers them. This data never leaves your device.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
We do not use third-party advertising.
We do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools.
We do not sell or share your data with anyone.

Permissions

The app requests only the permissions needed for its features: location (prayer times and Qibla), camera (scanning), notifications and alarms (prayer reminders), and vibration (haptic feedback). You can grant or revoke these at any time in your device settings; some features may not work without them.

Data Retention & Deletion

Because your data is stored locally, you remain in control. You can clear the app’s data from your device settings, or uninstall the app, to remove all locally stored information at any time.

Children’s Privacy

Deen NZ is suitable for users of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
